Auchmithie Arts Festival 2023
Written by Malcolm Finlayson on 30/07/2023
There was an air of excitement in Auchmithie last weekend when members of the Heritage Auchmithie Arts Residents committee and artists met to make final preparations for the long-awaited Arts Festival. Several of Auchmithie’s historic cottages, the school, village hall and church will open their doors to exhibit all manner of creative and unique work; paintings, glass design, ceramics, textiles, jewellery, photography, prints and cards. For those feeling energetic there is even a venue down at the beach. The Art Festival has been a firm favourite with visitors to the village over the years and the artists are delighted to be re-establishing it in 2023 following the pandemic.
This year’s festival will be exhibiting the work of fifty artists, both local and guests. Organisers are excited to be introducing some new artists this year who will compliment the regular exhibitors work and bring some new inspiration to the festival.
A few Auchmithie fishwifes will be on hand to make sure visitors enjoy a warm welcome and to help direct them to all the venues.
Regular buses run from Arbroath Bus Station and there is ample free parking. A tearoom will be available in the village hall and a variety of other food on offer by local providers.
The Auchmithie Arts Festival 2023 will be held on Saturday 19 August, 11am-5pm and Sunday 20 August, 12noon-5pm. Admission is free.
