Advertise

Advertising with Radio North Angus is quite different from the usual commercial style. RNA is entirely voluntary, and our operational costs are very low. This allows us to offer the lowest advertising rates in commercial radio in Britain.

Advertising is generally for 12 months, with the vast majority of our advertisers renewing year after year owing to the low costs involved. However, we can offer attractive rates for much shorter periods.

Commercial radio will usual create one pre-recorded advert with a norm of 20 seconds, and with a music background. The cost of such production is passed on to the advertiser. The advert is then repetitively broadcast in accordance with the contract.

RNA creates at least four adverts which can extend far beyond 20 seconds in order to include intricate detail of the products or services offered. The adverts are read on air by the presenter, with no music background. The purpose is to avoid monotony of the same advert being broadcast time after time which can be perceived as annoying to the audience. The RNA method eliminates production costs as all adverts are produced in-house, the exception being where we are supplied with an advert that is being broadcast on a number of stations.

We encourage advertising across a programme stream e.g. the four adverts being broadcast on the breakfast programmes Monday to Friday for 52 weeks per year.

Alternatively, we can arrange sponsorship where the promotion of products and services is not required, but where a short, sharp message is considered appropriate. Four mentions would be made in each programme.

Why Radio?

  1. Radio sells everywhere.

Radio is the only true mobile medium. In the car, at work, and at play, radio is there…the companion and the advertising force your customers take with them wherever they go.

  2. Radio sells with intimacy.

In your personal life, when you have something very important to communicate to someone, which would you prefer – to show them a picture, to write to them, or to talk with the intimacy and emotion of the human voice? Radio sells with intimacy.

  3. Radio escapes advertising’s clutter.

Today’s newspapers average 2/3 advertising to 1/3 editorial content. TV spends about 1/3 of its time on advertising. Today’s radio, at about 10 minutes of advertising per hour, devotes less than 1/5 of its time to ads. Radio is the uncluttered medium.

  4. Reach is nice, but frequency sells.

Newspaper and TV are reach media – they reach varying numbers of people. Psychologists tell us that consumers need to be exposed to an advertising message at least three times before it begins to penetrate. Most local businesses cannot afford the necessary three-times-plus frequency that effective advertising demands – except on radio.

  5. You’re always on the front page with radio.

With radio advertising you are front and centre in the listener’s attention span when your ad is on the air. You’re never buried on page 42. On Radio North Angus you will never be surrounded by your competitor’s ads. With radio, you are always on the front page.

  6. This is a Win / Win!

You’ll be making a vital contribution to a true community project – as well as reaching a new audience of potential customers for your business.
