Angus Council’s Small to Medium Enterprise (SME) Start and Grow Business Grant Scheme is now live!

Funded by the UK Government’s Shared Prosperity Fund, grants ranging between £500 – £7,000 are available to eligible businesses to offer financial support under six key themes:

  • Start Up: For new businesses in their first 12 months of trading. 
  • Resilience: For businesses at all stages to help run an industry standard healthy and compliant business with strong foundations.
  • First Employee: For businesses at all stages to support wage costs of a first PAYE employee. 
  • Market Development: To enable businesses to expand their market overseas or into other parts of the UK.
  • New Property: For businesses at all stages to assist with the costs of fitting out new premises where they have been vacant for over 12 months.
  • Growth: For established businesses who are ready to look forward and improve business potential through development, growth, and adaptation.

Expert advice from partners and wrap around support will be available to businesses applying for funding from Invest in Angus and Business Gateway, and for flood impacted businesses, the Scottish Flood Forum.

Council Leader, Beth Whiteside, said:

“This funding will help support the businesses of Angus to start, grow and thrive in an ever-changing environment.

“From supporting businesses fitting out new premises to helping them expand their businesses overseas, I urge any eligible businesses to take advantage of the range of funding opportunities available and look forward to seeing the positive impacts this will have for the businesses of Angus.”

the closing date for applications is 31 December 2024 at 5pm. All grants must be spent, and claims submitted by 28 February 2024
