Nineteen modern apprenticeships up for grabs at Angus Council

Young people in Angus have the chance to become Modern Apprentices (MA) with Angus Council, with 19 vacancies in various roles and departments available.

Modern apprenticeships give young people the chance to gain skills, experience and complete a recognised SVQ qualification, while earning a salary, with vacancies in departments such as Road & Assets and Digital Communication.

The vacancies go live on MyJobScotland website from 24 March and close on 30 April, with successful applicants starting in August 2021.

Pippa Van Wees who started with the council as a MA in 2020, said: “I chose to do a modern apprenticeship over going to college or university because I felt like it was such a good opportunity as you are getting a qualification while working. I’ve loved every minute of it. If you’re considering applying for a modern apprenticeship I would one hundred percent go for it.”

And Kara Paul who started with the council as a MA, Education and Skills in 2020, added: “I chose a modern apprenticeship over college as I love the idea of being more hands on and learning new skills as well as being able to earn while I learn. This job has already allowed me to learn a lot of new skills and meet so many new people and gain a lot of confidence that I know I will continue to use throughout the rest of my work life.”
