ANGUSalive is looking for people from all walks of life and all backgrounds to join its Board as Non-Executive Directors.
The Non-Executive Director is a voluntary role giving members a great opportunity to do something different from their day job, learn about a new organisation as well as help make an impact and difference. They’ll work alongside senior members of the charity as well as people from partner organisations which could help grow their own skills as well as drive the charity forward.
Iain Stevens, Senior Manager for Business Management and Development at ANGUSalive explains why the charity is seeking new members.
He said: “Some of our long-term Board members who have been a great support for the charity over the years are coming to the end of their board tenure at some point in 2021.
“This opens up opportunities for new members to join us and help steer our charity through and out of what is a challenging time for us and every culture, sport and leisure organisation right now.
“Whilst experience of cultural, sport or leisure organisations would be beneficial, it is not essential. What’s more important is that people have an interest in the services we deliver as well as plenty of passion, motivation and commitment to help our organisation continue to play an important role in the lives of residents and visitors across Angus.”
Board meetings take place, on average, every eight weeks with on-going training and development days. Members can be based anywhere in Angus or indeed further afield as meetings are currently held remotely and will continue to be held this way for some time.
ANGUSalive is the culture, sport and leisure trust for the county of Angus and has been operating since December 2015. Its vision is to ‘change lives by inspiring healthy, active and creative lifestyle choices’ through the use of our sports centres, country parks, theatres and venues, museums, galleries, archives and libraries.
As a not-for-profit organisation every penny is reinvested back into the services it delivers.
These fixed term roles are not remunerated however reasonable expenses will be reimbursed.
