Angus Youth Awards

Angus Youth Awards

Here is a great chance to celebrate the efforts and achievements of our young people.

Angus Council is calling on anyone who knows a young person who has made a difference to nominate them for an Angus Youth award.

Every year National Youth Work Week (2-8 November) celebrates youth work and the brilliant outcomes it can help young people to achieve. Across Scotland, youth work has provided a lifeline for young people during difficult times.

Over the last six months, youth workers from Angus Council’s Communities Team have worked closely with young people through online learning, outdoor activities and detached youth work, providing them with vital support.

Together, young people and the youth work staff have created the Angus Youth awards to celebrate the achievements of young people.

And so, the Council is asking anyone who knows a young person who has made a difference to celebrate their efforts by nominating them for an award.

Categories include volunteering, sports, arts, and equality and many more.  Winners will receive a £20 Amazon voucher and the opportunity to record a short video clip to share online.

Winners will be announced during National Youth Work Week.

Anyone can nominate a young person—including young people themselves—as long as they have their permission.

A full list of categories and information on how to nominate a young person can be found at the @youthworkchangeslives Facebook page or by emailing Communities Officer, Pauline Rettie, rettiep@angus.gov.uk. Completed forms should be sent to Pauline and the closing date for nominations is Friday 23 October.

Winners will be announced online during National Youth Work Week.
